Auckland Seaplanes, ZK-AMA

Auckland Seaplanes operate from their base at the Wynyard Quarter on the wharf in downtown Auckland and have two de Havilland Beaver DHC-2 Float Planes, ZK-AMA and ZK-WKA.
At last I managed to get some new photos of ZK-AMA that are half decent, and with no rain and not and overcast day. So while sitting having a quiet beer, at a Wynyard Quarter bar, I managed to get these photos of AMA going out for a flight.

Back at the wharf and all washed down to remove any salt spray from the day at their base on the wharf.

Sunset 05R - Departures

A few days ago the weather was perfect just before sundown for these photos all taken within 14 minutes of each other from departures off Runway 05R at Auckland.

LAN was running a little late today, so was was lucky to have it, and all four heavy's within such a short time span.

Korean Airlines B777-300ER, HL8218

Back to a few more photos of Korean Airlines, and this time their B777-300ER, HL8218 departing Auckland as KE9130 back to Seoul. Korean Airlines are operating extra charter flights in Auckland during January, with a mix of B777-300ER's and A330's.

Air Chatham's ZK-CIC New Livery

Air Chatham's now service Whakatane, New Zealand using this newly re painted Metroliner
ZK-CIC taking over from Air New Zealand after they decided to cease operations to some regional airports including Whakatane. Air Chatham's operate three return flights a day from Auckland, with a flight time of 45 minutes.

I'd say ZK-CIC would be the most colourful Metroliner in New Zealand.

Korean Airlines B747-8i

Happy New Year Everyone, and I hope you all managed to have a break over the Christmas and New Year Holidays. Sorry for the long gap since I last posted some photo's, I've had a little holiday myself at the beach.

I would like to say Thank You for all your support and for following my blog in 2015. I hope in 2016 I can keep the photos coming.

So may as well start off 2016 with something big...

Korean Airlines have become the first airline to operate the B747-8i into Auckland, and it was also the first time a B747-8i had touched down in Auckland on the 6th Jan 2015 when KE129 from Seoul operated by HL7633.

My first photos yesterday of HL7631 as KE129 arrives, and some of KE130 departing back to SEL.
The B747-8 sure is a masterpiece and my number one aircraft.
