Updated New Livery, Air NZ's - ZK-OAB

Air New Zealand's A320, ZK-OAB has had a repaint and subtitle change to its livery.

The Silver Fern on the back has been changed to the standard Fern and style as the rest of the fleet, and the words "Crazy About Rugby" have gone from the front. And as you can notice the engines are now white.  I think it looks quite smart.

American Airlines - Welcome to New Zealand

Welcome back to New Zealand American Airlines.

American Airlines have commenced daily Los Angeles - Auckland - Los Angeles flights using the B787-8, with the first flight AA83 arriving into Auckland on the 25th Jun, early in the morning.

American Airline's have operated to New Zealand in the past, and the last time they operated to Auckland was back in 1989, using the DC-10.

Their return flight back to Los Angeles, AA82 departs Auckland at 1320 and arrives back into LA nice and early, making for some good connecting flight options for its passengers.

Well here are my first photos, and I wish the sun was out a bit more for these pics of N805AN taxing out. I will hope for better luck next time.

And....the new American livery is just great and is my number one favourite at the moment.

Golden Hour Photos, B787-9, ZK-NZC

It sure was great conditions for some late afternoon photos of NZ9, ZK-NZC arriving from Honolulu.

We haven't had that many clear winter day afternoons yet with clear skies and later afternoon sun shining. But the golden sunset hour sure was perfect for these photos.

Air New Zealand B777-200ER, ZK-OKG

The late afternoon winter sun is the best time at the moment to get photos of arrivals and departures from runway 05R at Auckland.

This time photos of ZK-OKG. The first two photos are of NZ136 arriving from Brisbane back in April and the last three photo's only taken his week in almost identical light and weather conditions.
The last three photos are NZ28 departing for Houston.

Air Asia X, 9M-XXY and 9M-XBC

Air Asia X scheduled arrival time is in the late afternoon, and they seem to arrive pretty much
on-time each day from the Gold Coast.

Their livery is one of the more colourful ones at Auckland, and they do have a number of special livery A330's also that do frequently visit us.

This first set of photos' are of 9M-XBC, and my first photos of this aircraft.

Air New Zealand B767-300ER, ZK-NCI

Air New Zealand's B767-300ER's days are number at the airline, and as more B787-9's arrive at Air New Zealand, see's the retirement date of the last B767 get a little closer.

I am not sure on which B767 will be the last to go.

I was pretty pleased how these shots came out of ZK-NCI,  departing as NZ61 to Rarotonga.
Nice blue sky, and the late afternoon sun.

LATAM B787-9, CC-BGL

Well...with some nice weather two days ago, and some free time, before the crap weather arrives, I took to opportunity to head out for some late afternoon photos of LATAM's brand new Dreamliner, B787-9, CC-BGL.

CC-BGL was the second LATAM livery to be delivered to the airlines just behind CC-BGK.

United States Navy - P-8A Poseidon

This is the first time visit to New Zealand of a Boeing P-8A Poseidon.

This is the U.S Navy P-8A, 168437 that visited.

The Boeing P-8A Poseidon is a military aircraft developed for the United States Navy, which was developed by Boeing Defense, Space and Security, modified from the B737-800ER.

The P-8A is a long range multi use aircraft designed for Maritime Patrol and Surveillance.
The aircraft is capable of anti submarine warfare, anti surface warfare, electronic surveillance, intelligence gathering, and on top of that can also drop, torpedo depth charges, and Harpoon Ship Missiles.

This is sure one nice piece if kit and we were lucky to have one in Auckland. I did take quite a few shots, but something different in each shot, and probably wont have another chance for a long time.
